The Flight to Harmony Foundation was set up in 1994 with the prime object of
giving shape to an idea of the sculptor Chitta Dey, to create a monumental rock-cut
sculpture of a flock of birds set to fly, reviving our long lost traditional art form of
rock carving; its latest examples in view dating back to at least 1000 years.

The project in progress is in the process of growing into a hub of social and cultural
creativity in the site chosen for its execution. The Foundation too has branched out
into other endeavors extending the frontiers of culture and creativity with the visual
arts as its point of departure, it tries to engage the arts in the process of social
progress in different ways.
